yes, awesome live band. i only wish they'd've played less of the droney stuff when i saw them. i think opening for sunn0))) was weighing too heavily on them. people wanted the rock. still, that drummer? totally cool.

yeah, i'll admit i'm leaning towards boris. i f'in love that band of horses record, but in a sonic fight between boris and BoH, boris will easily slay whatever is in its path.

I've seen both, I really enjoyed BOH live...I'm gonna see them next weekend I believe.

but shit, if there is anything hotter than a tiny 4'8 japanese girl with a wall of orange amps stacked nearly to the ceiling behind her then I don't want to know about it...literally made my knees buckle.

I would also like it to be known that I AM NOT A METAL/HEAVY MUSIC FAN, I may have to seriously reconsider now.

wear ear plugs

i agree with all of this.

i'd seen pictures of them, knew there was a girl in the band, but it never occurred to me that she might be the one who was absolutely shredding.

What is Boris? Is this different from Boris the Sprinkler and Someone Still Loves You, Boris Yeltsin?

that might have been the loudest show i've ever been to. even wearing earplugs, this concert was louder than most shows are when i'm not wearing earplugs. fucking awesome.

mogwai is the only show i've ever been to where i've seen people hunched over with hands over ears.

dinosaur jr or j mascis would be in the same company as boris and mogwai.

j mascis + mike watt @ metro, circa 2000 - loudest show i've ever attended.

mogwai @ metro, circa 2006 - second loudest show. i actually laughed because i didn't know what else to do. i felt like my ears were being raped.

legend has it that the jam actually played the loudest show in chicago's history. not sure of the venue, but i've heard more than one old chicago dj say this.

i saw people with their hands over their ears, and i also saw folks retreating, running out of the venue, looking ill and in pain. what i appreciate the most is that the PA wasn't loud enough to get the vocals above the instrumentation most of the time. Speaking of which, that drummer must play fucking hard to be loud enough to keep up with the other two.

i wrote a review of this show here
