Their site hasn't been updates since 2003, when they had their last release -- a "best of" compilation.
No news of a break up and their site is still up, but no news of any tours or new releases either.
Anybody know anything about this wonderful band?

Have they broken up?
Are they releasing another album?

What the hell?

Did a quick search, Todd, and came up with this:

Her band, which broke up two years ago, released three CDs and had one of their songs played in a TV commercial. Shivika is now a freelance Web developer in Boston

So I guess they are done. Good band, though, and they formed at my school (Tufts)

Bummer.
Listened to Buildings and Grounds today and I love that record.

Oh well.
Thanks for the info, Gordo.

Oh, just gotta say that they had the best male/female vocal duo this side of Gram and Emmylou. Awesome chemistry... every bit as good as X or Richard and Linda Thompson.

I liked them since their first album. I remember seeing them at TT the Bears' and one of the opening bands, Solar Saturday, also had Shiv drum for them but "in disguise" with a pink wig.

Tony Goddess wrote and plays on at least one song (called "Private Line") on Bleu's attempted-Wilburys-esque L.E.O. project, the thread for which you must have missed or I'm sure you woulda chimed in on its potential awesomeness. (Though it may be too Jeff Lynne-y for your tastes. It's realllllly Jeff Lynne-y.)

Did you know Tony Goddess cowrote Guster's "Amsterdam"? I wonder if he earned more from that than the Dentyne commercial.

I imagine we'll see a Tony Goddess solo project before we see another Papas Fritas disc. By the way, Todd--if you don't own that "greatest hits" (Pop Has Freed Us), you should. At least half of it is rarities and b-sides. It's yummy.

I have considered it, but will now do so even more seriously, as I was not aware of tbe B-side/rarity factor. Thanks for the heads-up!
