My brother-in-law called me up to see if I wanted to go with him –
He's a produce buyer for a grocery company and one of his vendors has a luxury box at the venue where the show is.

It's on my birthday and this will be his present to me.

Too cool.
Should be a pretty damn awesome show.
Or a spectacle, at the least.

Oh, that's right!
I forgot that he's going to perform Dark Side Of the Moon in it's entirety!
It still won't be Floyd, but then... who gives a shit?
I saw the Gilmour-led Floyd back in 1987, so this will complete the lineup, in a sense.

[Flounder]This is gonna be great!!![/Flounder]

so... the show...

Pretty fucking amazing.
Great visuals.
Crack band.
Excellent performance.

Dark Side... sounded amazing. That and a 3-song Syd tribute were the highlights of the show.

I read a couple of reviews, Todd, that mentioned a somewhat anti-semitic overtone...I think mainly in a new song called something Beirut. Anything noticable in your show?

I didn't get the antisemitism.
Certainly a Lebanese sympathy, but that does not necessarily equal a hate of the Jewish people.
He did tell of a story of hitchiking home to England from the middle east and of a Lebanese family in Beirut that took him in one night and treated him like family. That was the lead in to "Beirut".

Could antisemitism be implied?
There are people of all persuasions who love to jerk their knees.
There was not even anti-Israel sentiment in the story. Perhaps one could imply that, but you would have to be looking for it, or be foolish enough to believe that to sympathize with one is to hate the other.
