From Yahoo!:

Quote:
The White Stripes drop by Springfield for an intimate gig in the second episode of the season, "Jazzy and the Pussycats." Bart ends up with a mangled drumming arm after a run-in with a stray tiger Lisa rescues from the pound. He organizes a benefit concert to raise money for his operation at which Jack and Meg White perform.

So, this episode aired tonight, and it was probably the funniest one in the last couple of seasons. Jack and Meg's appearance was brief, but absolutely hilarious. Did anyone else see this?

I thought it was great, and was surprised to find out that it was the White Stripes Episode. I thought the musical sequence with them was really good as was the Lisa scene ala Reservoir Dogs.

Yup. I too thought it was one of their funniest episodes in a long while.

Bart playing with the jazz band was the best.

I loved when they did the Heimlich on that dude from Blue Man Group and then he wasn't blue anymore.

Shit, I nearly forgot about that scene. I was dying the whole time, especially after bart swung back at all the balls and they were all swallowed again.

It's your loss, all you current-day Simpsons naysayers! Just because it's not as consistent as it was back in its heyday doesn't mean it's gotten so bad it's completely not worth watching. It's still one of the 10 best shows on TV. Closer to 10 than 1, sure, but still good enough to watch.

That was great, but I was REALLY busting a gut throughout the entire "Hardest Button to Button" video parody. I'd be willing to bet that less than 5% of people watching last night's episode have even SEEN that video before.

I tried watching a few seasons prior to the last one but couldn't sit through them. Stupid things like making Patty gay and revealing Comic Book Guy's name just seemed unnecessary. Not to mention the hundreds of celebrities as themselves and trips to foreign countries.

So far this season has been aces.

Both episodes have been pretty good. The only "lame" complaint I have is Homer's idea of a dirt nap.

I don't own any music by The White Stripes....yet, but luckily I had seen that video. Interestingly enough, I saw Reservoir Dogs for the first time last week so I was able to laugh at the Lisa and the animals scene instead of thinking, "I'm sure this is a parody of something, I just have no clue what it is."

Here's the scene with The White Stripes, for those who missed it...

I can't stop watching this. I love it when Meg screams, "LET'S KICK HIS ASS!" and pounds her fist into her palm to the beat of the song.
