I am still floating in the afterglow of Ray Lamontagne’s performance last night. What an achingly beautiful experience that was. Singing the entire current album, while accompanied by an 11-member orchestra – yes, strings and horns included, Ray far exceeded my expectations. Between songs, you’d hear a soft whisper thanking the audience for their support. So very soft-spoken, people would shush each other in order to hear his soft words.
As you are aware, I attend many shows during the year. And, as much of a dirty-guitar loving girl, I am, this performance tops any shows I’ve seen in 2006. If you can at all, please, please experience him.
