Feelin' the angst today...

But this first track (my first listen) off the new Yo La Tengo is making it all alriiight.

Nice. Very nice.

I'm such a self-medicating music listener.

I decided that I will be relying on music heavily in the next while, likewise as medicine. There's so much I'd rather by listening to right now than peripheral drum n' bass, but that's what happens when you lose dominion over the stereo momentarily. I will be headphoned when I can be stationery at my desk, and listening first (and as a first) to a Six Organs Of Admittance 7" "Somewhere Between Her Shoulders and God",

it's of the goodkind as is the whole album. quite possibly my favorite yo la tengo album, never maudlin and varying its approach from song-to-song.

There's something vaguely Spiritualized about the first track.

No shit! I literally just picked this up at lunch and heard only the first and second tracks all the way through. "Pass the Hatchet" is amazing. When it ended, all I could say, out loud, by myself in my truck, was, "Damn." And then the horns of "Beanbag Chair" kicked in for "something completely different." Love it.
