Will Oldham - The Letting Go

I love it how there's no mistaking Jim White's drumming on that one song on this. No one else drums like that.

As usual I very nice list mister.

I brought two Jason Molina albums to work with me which I will most certainly listen to today.

Why thank you. Have you gotten that Tortoise box yet? It's absolutely worth it if you haven't, assuming you don't already have a majority of the material on it (all non-album stuff).

I'm pretty pleased with both of those Jason Molina albums. Not real standouts among the rest of his catalog, but still very good.

I'll take a shot at those RIYLs (to be taken with a grain of salt):

Man Man: Tom Waits, Need New Body, I don't know. A fairly unique mixture with a carnivalesque (but not too circus-y) sorta vibe.

Grizzly Bear: Think recent atmospheric pop w/ fleshed out arrangements and subtle orchestral touches, but I'll have to get back to you on specific RIYL. It's got that very modern indie pop sound. A lot of different instruments are employed, but it doesn't have a "kitchen sink" feel. It's very coherent and theme-oriented almost to the point of seeming like a concept album. Generally sort of laid back and dreamy.

Nearly picked up the Tortoise box... but chickened out because I didn't really have the time to scan through it. I'll prolly get it eventually though.

Thanks for the RIYLs. Grizzly Bear sounds interesting.

[i'm finding this good in an atmospheric way, but nothing overwhelming (as others have stated).]
