It'll have been three years next week, I think, since the last one.

In this day and age, with people like Xiu Xiu and Fiery Furnances releasing one (or more) a year, that's a pretty long interim.

And no mention of anything on their website. Hmm.

Yeh, it's frustrating, especially considering how much I liked Reconstruction Site - but they've been open about this in interviews. They don't have any material even written yet, and Samson is putting a lot of energy into his publishing house.

It makes me respect 'em for operating on their own timetable, instead of bowing to the usual industry pressure to get "product" out at regular intervals.

(And Xiu Xiu and Fiery Furnaces should be able to put out a new album every week, all things considered.)

They're still playing live shows.

Yeah, it's a bummer that an album I like so well doesn't get a predictable follow up. I respect 'em for it but still, Reconstruction Site is one of my favorite albums from the last 10 years.

Their other stuff is good, but not nearly so catchy. Still really good lyrics and a few really strong songs here and there but Reconstruction Site is far and away their best in my opinion.

Fallow and Left And Leaving are a bit more punk sounding musically, so if that doesn't turn you off, you should enjoy them just as much, although I think Reconstruction Site is their best.

Curious nobody is wondering about a new Wrens Record.

Not to stir anything up.

I dug their last two records quite a bit, but one day I realized that I don't want to listen to them anymore. Like a marriage that fell apart. Weird.

Me too. I have Fallow and it never does a whole lot for me.

This puts me in the minority of people who have posted, but Left and Leaving is my personal favorite.

Fabulous. Their first album, Fallow, has some weak spots but Left & Leaving is stellar. Has many of my favorite songs by them on it.

This band is probably at the top of my "enjoy them whenever I randomly hear them, but never have the urge to listen" list. I've got all of their albums, but don't ever think, "Hey, I really feel like listening to The Weakerthans now," yet if they pop up on the iPod or Winamp, I turn it up and rock out with my cock out.

Bizarre phenomenon, to be sure.

Ditto to the third power, which makes us a more vocal minority...

"Reconstruction" is actually my least favorite... It's the only one that has moments that make me cringe...

Plus, while JKS has been busy w/his publishing house & working on his wife's album (Christine Fellows), the rest of the guys have been playing backing band for Greg Graffin on his new disc - I've yet to hear it because I'm not that big on Graffin, but I've almost bought it a couple times because of the Weakerthans involvement...
