Fucking steroids. Fucking HGH. Fucking Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire, Jason Giambi, Bret Boone, etc.

Twenty years ago, and these guys don't even look like professional athletes. They look like a bunch of regular 30-something guys playing a well-financed pick-up game. I mean, Fred Lynn wouldn't even get a second look these days.

Yeah, think about dudes like Dave Parker, Willie Wilson or any other average brother from the 80s.

And Bloor, you right on the Bravos I guess, but even when Schuerholz was bringing those dudes in, it was more a "plug a hole with talent" deal than a "Buy the best player available and everything will be OK deal."

oh absolutely. I mean who the fuck was coming to the Braves in 1991? Its not like any of those dudes that were brought in were world beaters.

Even after two straight trips to the World Series, it was still HUGE news that Maddux came here in 1993 over the Yankees.

Which is why I still maintain that the Braves died a little bit the minute they traded Justice and Grissom for Kenny Lofton (who only stayed one year because he is the one guy in history who hated playing for Bobby).

Yeah, Justice was a huge part of the team's heart. I hold that BASEBALL died the minute Glavine suited up for the Mets, but that's me...my grandfather would have held that it was when The Dodgers left Brooklyn. ;)

So I'm watching Daniel Cabrera in the 7th inning with a no-hitter against the Yankees. Only 88 pitches so far, and it's his last start of the season.

The O's have racked up two infield errors and two passed balls in this inning. It's hilarious and sad all at the same time.

Mora's gotta feel bad. Still though, a great pitching effort.

Ehhh, tell it to Dave Stieb, who one time lost a perfect game, no-hitter AND the game on swing of the bat in the 8th with 2 outs.
