Why the F are you blaming Missouri when it happened across the river in that slum called East St. Louis?

I'm hoping C Mac can use this in her race against Tallent somehow.

Or something. It's all flyover country to me.

My favorite part: That it says "Highlights of Story"...I believe there's another way to put that, please.

I actually work in East St. Louis at the hospital where the cops brought her and the dead fetus...some weird shit does goes down in these parts.

And, to be honest, while this is freaky as hell...some white folks in St. Louis just had a case of a chick slashing anothers throat and stealing her baby like a week ago and North St. Louis City in general has way more violent crime than East St. Louis.

The whole East Side is more than just strip joints and crack houses. And, if you wanna just pretend the east side has nothing to do with St. Louis, stop taking credit for thigns like Miles Davis, Uncle Tueplo, Albert King, Ike Turner, Josaphine Baker, Kathrine Dunhum and anything else that came from over here that St. Louis likes to claim as part of its musical heritage.

One time I was high and I got lost in east St. Louis. I decided that my best chance for survival was asking a cop for directions.

Oh, yeah...no political gain will happen from this. The whole area votes democrat, usually thinks to bottles of wine or five dollar bills. Actually, while that practice does stille exist, it has declined drastically and considering its a 95% black area, its always goign Democrat anyway anyway so politics in the place are internal party struggles not worry about the actual elections, and no voters in Missouri are going to hold any of their candidates responsible for anything that happens on the East Side.

Been to East St. Louis once... ventured over to go to a strip bar with some guys during a convention. I was pick pocketed.... yea, it's a cesspool.

Was E. St. Louis where the Griswold's ended up and got their rims stole, or was it Detroit?

#1 -- It's Chicken, Gin and $20 Bills

#2 -- you don't point out the problems in your own backyard, you find a boogeyman. I know gas prices are out of control, Iraq's in a civil war, and the CIA says that the war has diverted our resources and focus on terrorism - THEM ARE RIPPING KID'S OUT OF STOMACHS!@!!

#1....no I'm not just fuckin' around. This is my neck of the woods. Born in East Boogie. Still work in the heart of the mess. I've watched guys hand out bottles from the back of a pick-up truck and seen 'em pass out five dollar bills on the corner. Maybe a vote costs twenty elsewhere, but five will do it around these parts.

#2...you have to understand the attitude in the area. St. Louis simply does not in any way shape or form give a shit about what happens on the East Side. Look at just the few casual comments on this thread. St. Louis ses the East Side as a cesspool with nothing but strip clubs and 24 hour bars to visit when shit faced at 4 AM or a place to score some dope before scurrying back across the river. A candidate who even brings up anything going on in East St. Louis would just confuse people. They truly don't care and absolutely don't consider that anything on the IL side means a thing to them. I'd be more than pleased if someone could change that attitude, but despite years of efforts, it remains strong. Creating another booegyman ain't gonna help it either. It would just further cement the idea that the area is an unsaveable hell hole filled with murdurous animals. The Mississippi River don't look like that big of a divide, but in reality its huge.

If ya want a Boogieman in St. Louis, look no further than gang violence in North St. Louis..shootings that way are climbing. Or, you could get really nasty and play on the fears of South St. Louis, which used to be all white but is becomeing increasingly diverse. Really though, the city votes overwhelmingly Democrat anyway, you need to worry about the county and outstate. That's where the right-wingers carry things.
