•R.E.M. and Red Hot Chili Peppers were still "College" bands
•If you stated that The Beastie Boys were going to become influential, critically acclaimed stalwarts, most people would laugh in your face
•Cell phones were still only installed in cars... and only expensive ones, at that
•I brought a dedicated "word processor" with me to school, and thought that was pretty hot
•There was no such thing as The Internet

Nebraska was the best college football team.
People were still mourning the death of Kurt Cobain
Radiohead had just released their second album
The President was a Democrat.\

1995 - on compuserve message boards, promethium figured out a way to fit his high school football team into every post.

I wish, my high school football team was 12-0 and the champions of the largest class of schools in Nebraska. I think I was still using an Apple 2E in high school and didn't get to really use the internet until I went to college.

It's been twenty years since I was kicked out of college (well, the first time, anyway). Remembering back to high school is too much.

Ask me when I'm 90, have Alzheimers and spend endless hours reciting verbatim conversations from 1984.

getting "kicked out" of college makes no sense as you don't have to be there in the first place.
now third grade is hard core.

...eh. You can be dropped from a program. Surprisingly enough, I haven't been, but I know it's possible.

A prof. tried to drop me from a class, and I told her "I have a right to stay here and fail," and then talked her into giving me a "B"

"Kicked out" was a euphemism for "late night drunkeness precipitated startling GPA drop."

Haha. I failed Theater Appreciation, simply because I never attended class, and despite a 90-something average. The TA decided to let me have it in the hallway after I turned in my final, only to be met with...

"Do you really think it's gonna hurt my feelings if some piece of shit curtain jockey fails me in a class I didn't have to attend to get an A?"

I could imagine Brother Fu being every professor's worst nightmare. They probably had the sweats before they looked at the class roster for the first time.

When I graduated high school...

•I still played the original Playstation and thought it was cutting-edge

Oh, memories.

i was kicked out of my homeroom about halfway through third grade because of an incident involving nitrous oxide canisters. I was entirely innocent. My parents, however, did not believe me and promptly put me on ritalin. The next 20 years was a a downhill slide.

AIDS was spelled with a "Y" and still known primarily as a dietary candy.

...there was a lunatic in the White House. The country was involved in an unjustified war abroad. Congress was impotent and mistrusted by the people. Wait...the difference is my hair wasn't grey then.
