All those Busby Berkeley musicals are great... Dames, Golddiggers of 1933, Footlight Parade, etc

I also like Singin in the Rain and kind of like Brigadoon.

Oh, I enjoyed Pennies From Heaven.

But I'm a sucker for anything Steve Martin.

And the Muppet movies, of course. Especially the first one.

The Singing Detective.

Okay, so that's a miniseries.

Um, An American In Paris is pretty cool, I guess.

My wife hates Baz Luhrman movies, but I like them.

I really couldn't give a shit about most Broadway musicals.

The only musical I've ever seen. Good movie.

I can dig the songcraft of say a Rodgers and Hammerstein musical and a lot of the stuff from that era. But I prefer not to actually watch it.

And for me "rock" and "musical" should never be in the same sentence. Not good for either.

Amen and amen.

My Fair Lady has a great book, not that I would know anything about some sissy musical.

Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Oklahoma!" of course... It's actually pretty entertaining.

Although I dont' know if it qualifies, Mystere in Vegas is pretty damn cool (seen "O" and didnt' think it was as good but twice as expensive).... plan on taking in the new Cirque du Soleil Beatles' "Love" show next trip.

Anyone seen the touring Spamalot musical? It's coming through Tulsa soon.

All of you reprobates would love Sweeney Todd: the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and you would probably dig Assassins too. C'mon, Stephen Sondheim is even the co-president of the Depeche Mode Fan Club. Of course his musicals are the indie rock equivalent of theater.

Sweeney Todd is the only musical I've ever seen and I liked it well enough to probably see it again. Though it really didn't help that when I was outside during intermission, the gay guy from my work just happened to be there seeing it too and blabbed to everyone that he saw me there the next day.
