I hear commercials for these stations all the time, but have no way to listen to them and never see any ads for radios that pick it up. It sounds like a great idea.

I think the HD Radio folks are doing a pretty bad job of getting their message out. Primarily, what is it and how does it work? The commercials telling me about "stations between the stations" seems a bit questionable.

No thanks, I'll stick with Sirius.

I discovered the all Stones channel today. It made my day a little brighter.

Yeah, the audio quality isn't why people are fed up with radio.

and a little AM 790 thrown in. I have no use at all for FM radio unless I wanna listen to a Falcons game.

From the commercials I have heard it's higher quality sound, and more specific music types. I think more variety is better. I would think the fledgling HD stations would get more freedom on what they want to play since hardly anyone is listening.

I like the idea of satellite, because there is no restriction on travel.

(Aren't the Falcons games broadcast on Sirius? Why would you choose XM? I would take XM for the baseball games.)

The soft rock station here is gonna start airing a classical music signal on its HD frequency in a couple months.

The way I gather it, when you tune into a host station you'll have like an "A" or "B" choice. "A" would be the signal you already know - in this case, it'd be KUDL 98.1 ( the aforementioned soft rock station ). A push of a button would give you the "B" option ( the classical music signal ). Of course, you need an "HD Ready" stereo to pick it up. Each position on the radio dial could have multiple options, in theory.

I like the idea in general, as I'm not in my car enough each day to justify laying out $$$ for better radio.
