NOW...

The trip was awesome.

Dri is indeed an amazing host and tour guide. LA was a trip and I think if I had a few more days under the influence of Dri I'd be a dancing whore myself. As it is, we're lesbian lovers ("I'm a lesbian, I brought her out here from Vermont"). Love Dri.

Tanny is a sweetheart and while Dri introduced me to whiskey, it was Tanny who bought my first, so, thank you for the corruption as well.

And Kyle is indeed a real, live human being and a lovely one at that.

Billy, you're awesome. Thank you for letting me lick your face.

Amoeba. Wow. My head nearly exploded. So much to the point I had to step outside for a bit and almost missed the beginning of TV On The Radio's in-store. Which was LOUD and so cool.

And Massive Attack at the Hollywood Bowl. O-M-G. Lately, there have been some shows I've gone to, that while enjoying, I had the 'is this over soon?' thought. That show ended too soon. Before I knew it it was over and I had to drag my jaw all the way back to the car.

Eric gave me a whirlwind tour of Seattle in the mere hours I had there. I think we covered a lot of ground and I can't wait to go back with more time.

Portland kind of rocked my socks off. Rodney, as well, is a real, live human and Dana and I met up with him for drinks on Tuesday evening. On Wednesday he gave me a driving tour of the city, forced me to spend more money on CDs and took me out to lunch. Rodney = QUAL.

Wednesday and Thursday morning and afternoons I had Portland to myself and walked as much as I could. It's a fantastic walking city and I covered a lot of ground. I talked to some shop keepers about moving and working there and everyone was amazingly friendly. Wednesday night I found my way to the Aladdin Theatre to see Andrew Bird. I had some time to kill beforehand and found this cool little coffee shop lined with books. I had a fabulous coffee milk shake and cookie while reading the paper in the park across the street. The opener for the show (I can't even remember their name right now) did absolutely nothing for me, but Andrew was amazing. I wasn't expecting such a great show from him.

Thursday evening I met up with Dana and three of her friends for drinks and the Junior Boys show. I had so much to drink and so much fun. I danced. With Dri's influence it now does not take near deadly levels of alcohol to do so anymore. Just a moderate amount. And may I just now let my complete and utter crush on Dana be known? Thank you.

Also, now that you all have met me and know I probably won't send letter bombs, could Dri, Tanny, Kyle, Billy, Eric, Rodney and Dana all PM your addresses to me? Danke.

I'm loading pictures now and they'll be up on Flickr soon.

It sounds like everyone actually are real people, instead of the vitural caricatures like i had hoped. That's a little disappointing, however the proof is in the pics, which are great.

Thanks. Yeah. They're all real and I wanted to take them all home with me.

As it is, I got pictures. Which are now Flicker'd.

I know, Tanny. I dropped the ball in some areas. Like, having so much time with Dri and not getting a picture together (luckily, we've got the three of us), having such a nice talk with Kyle and forgetting to take my camera out and, hell, I *had* my camera out with Eric, so I don't even know what happened there.

Not getting pics of Postmersh and Kabob constitutes pretty major ball dropping, as I don't believe photographic evidence of either exists anywhere in the annals of Obner/CMJBB history. But other than that, well done, S-Ell!

hey stacey, glad you had a good time... i'm currently posting from a friend's house in San Diego, recovering from what turned out to be a weeklong drunken bacchanal (started Tuesday night with Stacey, and ended, kinda, last night, although the day's not over yet, and I'm headed to brunch). Guys, stacey is just as cute as you expected her to be, and a real sweet pea. Y'all need to be nice and respectful, because this girl is qual. I'm probably being biased and selfish, but I hope you end up out here Stace... I think Portland could be your calling. I know it's mine....

Here's to Grey Goose, quiet boys, cute bartenders, finding $75 in your pocket, Banana Republic sale racks and fun! :)

Amen.

She speaks too highly of me, but that's why I think I'm in love with her.

Also, Dri...

You girls look fabulous. I, apparently, can't open my freakin' mouth to smile.

ayah's right though, it'd be hell choosing who to make out with first.
