Listening to the debut album from Cold War Kids and yeah it's freakin' amazing! While it is missing an ace tune "Expensive Tastes", the re-recorded versions of their EP tunes sound awesome, and as a whole album it flows very smoothly.

It's available October 10th, and I have a feeling many Obner's will be feelin' this album (as well as the few on here that are already into the CWK's).

I'll be upping a tune from it later tonight on a tune a day.

Image

1. We Used To Vacation
2. Hang Me Up To Dry
3. Tell Me In The Morning
4. Hair Down
5. Passing The Hat
6. Saint John
7. Robbers
8. Hospital Beds
9. Pregnant
10. Red Wine, Success!
11. God, Make Up Your Mind
12. Rubidoux

PM me if you'd like to hear it (but you have to promise to buy it!)

i think CWK are this year's CYHSY because the guy's voice sounds similar to me. still, i like them. i'm wondering what they'll do this fall now that the futureheads have cancelled the tour that CWK cancelled their own tour to join. it's kinda late to uncancel their own tour now.

I'm pissed because CWK were gonna play here with Tapes 'n Tapes, but the date got moved and they're no longer playing here.

I already pre-ordered this album with my local record store, but I'd still like a preview, Dalen.

According to the email I received from CWK, they're continuing the tour without the Futureheads. They'll be the headliners instead.

And, btw, this band is great live! You should not miss at all.

Okay, so at first they were playing with Tapes 'n Tapes, then pollstar says they were playing here with the Futureheads. Now that looks like that is out.

Pollstar is inaccurate right now then?

damn, those are some big venues for CWK. they were scheduled for schubas (250-cap) in chicago and will now be playing metro (1100-cap)? nice bump.

hahaha. CWK will end up dying before the first date of this tour. and tapes'n'tapes will miraculously end up headlining instead.

I'm on track 5 right now, and I thought I liked the EPs. They improved on them immensely.
