I like the Hold Steady...I like them a lot. LFTR PLLR was a horse of a different color...

Haven't heard the album yet, but I'm sure I will before I see them in a couple weeks...

i saw them around last halloween

it was pretty good
but
since they are proud to be a bar band
they did a lot of the "dragging it out" that bar bands do

and i wasnt into it
after seeing the constantines kick the shit out of everything

i think they're fucking incredible, but was kinda off-put by the new stuff. I'd fucking love to hear it if you've got it, T.

I like it...liked the last one a hair more I think, although a couple more listens may change my mind, although I doubt it.

A little rock is nice now and then these days.

That bar band thing is fine with me. Hell, if your band can't hold up to a good bar full of moody drunks, you really ought not play in a rock and roll band anyway.

I feel like it's the least rock and roll of the bunch. Maybe it's all the harmonies and background vox or something. I don't know. I still need to give this a few more listens.

I need to give this a few more listens, but initially I didn't like as much as the first two.

While they swore up and down to me that this was not the case last month, this one sounds a lot more like it's on Vagrant than the last 2. The drinking binge the lady and I went on with these guys was fucking crazy.

Seriously, Bloor, this album, might rock your face off. I thought you'd heard it a long time ago or I'd have sent it sooner.

I'm sure I just completely ignored you guys trying to tell me it was great.

Now I got something to look forward to. Thanks all.

I'd say start with Hold Steady and work backwards to Lifter Puller if you like the first enough. I think the thing that most people don't like about the hold stady is far more prevalent in Lifter Puller's stuff.

which isn't to say I don't like them, but I still prefer HS more.

I've actually heard lifter puller before and remember not really thinking that much of it...doesnt mean much, that was just my opinion at the time.

Thrower made us a mix. I really like one or two songs. I have Seperation Sunday on my external, but damned if i could tell you I have ever heard a note from it. Must've gotten Lost in the Flood.
