For a second there I thought I was being referred to as the Collective Soul guy.

Why would you think that? Do you like Collective Soul by any chance? If so, the other group members are in deep trouble. ;)

No, because I seem to be best known as the guy who listens to too much CCM related stuff. Even though I don't. But compared to everyone here I guess I do..... :D

Collective Soul blech.

Cool. That gives me some time too, which is a very good thing. I'd like to hear the next part of the plan also, because there are a few people's mixes, like ayah's, that I'd like to hear.

I sent out an E-mail regarding an exchange update about an hour ago to all exchange participants. If you did not receive the E-mail, it means I don't have your E-mail address so please either E-mail it to me or PM me. Thanks. E-mail is important as it will be my primary communication regarding the mix exchange.

And Tanner, you're horrible.

This is the E-mail I sent out...

Quote:
OK, this is what we have so far…

1. We have our theme.

I know, I know, some may think it's not much of a theme but it's something to at least work with. If there's one thing I'd ask of you, it's that you make a mix that you're passionate about and not just songs you "sort of like" or "think are good".

2. The groups are complete.

There will be 3 groups (2 groups of 8, and 1 group of 9). The groups, as you know, were randomly selected with one exception, I gave everyone the opportunity to select one person they wished to be paired up with. I believe all wishes were granted.

The groups are:

GROUP A
ALONGWALTZ
DRINKY
LEGO
CONTRADICTION
SHIV
RADCLIFFE
RED
TIMIS

GROUP B
BILLZEBUB
AYAH
SAINT PATRICK
MICEELF
OLDBULLEE
PAPER
COSMIC BUS
SPONTANEOUS POET
POSTHUMUS

GROUP C
DNORWOOD
BGL3
DUMPJACK
NAKED
RPARIS74
OPA!
STONE
TIMMYJOE42

3. The mail dates have been scheduled.

I think this will be the most interesting part of the exchange in that it will give everyone's mix a bit more attention than your usual mass mix exhange. I've been in quite a few mass exchanges and every single time, I find that several mixes are not given the proper attention.

The following is the list of mail dates assigned to each and everyone involved in the exchange.

I ask that you please make every effort to get your mix out no earlier than one or two days prior to your assigned date, and no later than one or two days after. This would be greatly appreciated.

In addition, I will make sure to E-mail you your group members' addresses exactly one week prior to your assigned date. If you do not, please bring it to my attention via E-mail or Obner PM.

OCTOBER 23rd - ALONGWALTZ, SAINT PATRICK, DUMPJACK

OCTOBER 30th - TIMIS, COSMIC BUS, BGL3

NOVEMBER 6th - CONTRADICTION, MICEELF, DNORWOOD

NOVEMBER 13th - RADCLIFFE, SPONTANEOUS POET, TIMMYJOE42

NOVEMBER 20th - SHIV, OLDBULLEE, NAKED

NOVEMBER 27th - RED, POSTHUMUS, BILLZEBUB, OPA!

DECEMBER 4th - DRINKY, AYAH, RPARIS74

DECEMBER 11th - LEGO, PAPER, STONE

4. Now, on to something new.

I ask that you all make an additional 2 copies of your mix. This means, 1 copy for each member of your group, and an additional 2 copies.

This is the next part of my plan as I'd like to pair everyone up with one member of each of the other groups. For example, if you're in Group A, you'd also be paired up with 1 member from Group B and 1 member from Group C. Because Group B has one member more than the other two groups, 2 of you (1 from A, 1 from C) will be paired up with 2 members from Group B, meaning you'll have to make 3 additional mixes, as opposed to 2.

Again, I will be randomly selecting these "threesomes", but once again, I will give you the opportunity to select the two people you'd wish to be paired up with. I will make every attempt to accommodate all of your requests but I will give priority to those who joined the exchange the quickest.

Please E-mail or PM me your requests only!

Anyway, that's all for now. I will post this on Obner as well, but I will mostly communicate with you by E-mail so there will be no misunderstandings.

So have fun working on your mixes, and in no time, you'll be receiving a mix from either Patrick (Saint Patrick), Charlie (Dumpjack), or Harley (Alongwaltz). We'll then discuss the reviews aspect of this exchange.

Happy Mixing!

So we're supposed to pick one person each from the other two groups now who we want to be additionally partnered with?

so for the kids that are in my group... are y'all opposed to getting a data cd of mp3's? I'm just worried I'm going to have a ton of songs, and I'd like to avoid burning multiple discs if at all possible. Lemme know.

I'm not in your group, but I think it'd be nice if eveyone kept these down to 80 minutes max (length of 1 CD).

It'll just be too much to deal with otherwise.

I don't know what data CDs are.

basically I can fit more songs on a cd burning it as a data cd, but more than likely, you can't listen to it in your car or on a regular cd player. You'd have to listen on your pc.

I would just do a regular CD. I think everyone's having a hard time picking 15 to 20 songs out of 100s that they love but we have to set a limit, otherwise, it can become a bit overwhelming for some.

But it's your choice. I personally, never listen to music on my computer, so your CD would get limited time.

Same here. It's a chore, but I would suggest narrowing it down to 79:57 or less.

Just in case, you missed it...

I've gone ahead and randomly selected the "threesomes". In addition to all your group members, please make sure to mail a copy of your mix to the two people in your threesome. If you're in a "foursome", you'll be mailing out 3 mixes, except for Posthumus and Ayah who will be sending out 2 mixes (1 to Alongwaltz and 1 to Stone).

If you feel that you'd rather not participate in this part of the exchange, please bring it to my attention and I'll just simply make your threesome into a twosome, or is it a pair? Thanks.

The "Foursome"
ALONGWALTZ, AYAH, POSTHUMUS, STONE

The "Threesomes"
CONTRADICTION, PAPER, TIMMYJOE42

DRINKY, SAINT PATRICK, OPA!

LEGO, SPONTANEOUS POET, NAKED

RADCLIFFE, MICEELF, RPARIS74

RED, BILLZEBUB, DNORWOOD

SHIV, OLDBULLEE, DUMPJACK

TIMIS, COSMIC BUS, BGL3

That theme still confuses the crap out of me.

I intend to do a Pop Pollination Vol. IV which will not contain any tracks from the previous 3 volumes. Those previous volumes may or may not have songs that descibe me as a person that I would have used.

You mean the no-theme theme? How is that confusing?
