it means you'll have a steady job for the next couple of years, perhaps longer. congrats.

so, along the subject of possible dem. pres. candidates, i recently read that the revised primary calender is going to heavily favor John Edwards, should he run again. Any thoughts on that, or him?

I should look into positions with Hagel, since he should be making up his mind after the election here in November. I'd lose some of my soul working for the GOP, but I'm sure the paycheck would be nice.

No one else is running. The Democrats suck so bad they can only field one candidate for 2008.

He's a popular governor from a fairly conservative/Southern state. He's a bit boring, which might hurt him, but other than that he is pretty much the perfect type of candidate needed to compete in red states.

In all seriousness now, I don't think Obama will run after just one term as a Senator. He could be a VP candidate, but I don't see him running and risking his Senate seat. He's got to have doubts about the people of america actually electing a black man.
Kerry or Gore might do it again, but I think they will decline once it is all said and done.
I'm sure there will be something like eight candidates including Hillary, I'm just not sure who and if anyone will really be as viable to the rest of the nation as Warner.

Plus, he's a governor which is pretty important since Senator's don't really get elected President anymore (not since 1960 anyway).

Also, co-founded Nextel.

Yeah, it needs to be someone with some foreign policy experience.

Any chance Colin Powell is hacked off enough at how he done got wronged by the Bushy's to get on board?

That could be a ticket.

Man, everytime Biden opens his mouth I'm reminded of how much he sucks. It's not even so much what he says, but how he says it.

Biden has 'Senate-itis." Love him, but he would be an unmitigated disaster as a presidential candidate.

Lot of people seem to think Wes Clark is running for the VP slot, moreso than thinking he can win Prz.

I like Clark a lot. It'd be nice to have a high-ranking military officer as the Secretary of Defense, though, and Clark seems well-suited for that. EDIT: I didn't realize they were ineligible... well, crap.

A Powell defection would be insanely great.

Past few weeks serious stories that Obama may be weighing a run... checking organization in Iowa etc. Unless he screws up or decides not to, he's on the ticket... top or bottom.

Gore/Obama

Warner is just too sweet 'n low...

I wouldn't vote for Gore even if he ran against Pat Sajak.

I think I'm about the only person who still thinks Edwards would be a good candidate.

And Obama's gonna be 2 blocks from my place Saturday AM...I might have to go check it out.

OK, I'll tell him. He'll be disappointed, but this will surely be the tipping point in his decision to stay out of it.

C'mon Harry, even you have to realize that Gore reeks of loser no matter how toss the dice.
