Good for him. I don't think he has ever hid the fact that he enjoys getting stoned. I really don't think his fans care of his getting nabbed. They figure he'll probably just chalk it as another story where he could write a song about it.

I don't know why they say its an embarassment for Jimmy. He's pretty well re-nownded for getting as fuh'd up as a lab rat.

There's a live version of Margaritaville I used to have where he says "Wish I had some cocaine" and at the same concert the version of "Get Drunk and Screw" says "I just hooked up with some Columbian herb and we'll smoke it all me and you."

why the fuck are you listening to jimmy buffett bootlegs? and if you say that buffett is "jail", I'm totally going to take that word away from you.

I don't think it's so bad that he was busted for drugs, but 100 ecstacy pills? I think anyone over 60 that much E around is super fucking creepy. using it to drug all of our moms makes it that much creepier.

I like JB's catalog at least upto Son of a Sailor. And, some Moms could use a little ecs for crying out loud.

On further review I'd have to revise this upto and including One Particular Harbor and take only certain songs from albums going forward.

Yeah, back when he was a Southern Good Timer Troubadour, and not a travelling corporate party headquarters for Mom and Dad's night out, Buffett was pretty damn qual.

You know, kinda like you feel about The Stones

Those versions Gar mentioned aren't from bootlegs, they are from the double album "Live You Had To Be There" recorded in Atlanta. I think I've owned it in every format from 8 track to CD.

I guess you're probably young enough that I can cut you some slack for hating Buffett, but there isn't anything wrong with some Buffett in small does to me and I've generally found that being in your thirties and hating buffett is highly correlated with being NO FUN.

As far as the drug bust goes, I'd be with GAR and Seafoam if it were small quantities of pot or coke, but large quantities of a club drug does seem a bit creepy at his age. Besides, its pretty stupid to try to smuggle drugs into another country where you're going to have to go through customs even if you have a private jet.

I've never claimed to be fun, but Jummy Buffett's music both bores and irks the shit out of me at the same time.

You have to admit that it takes an artist of some caliber to invoke both irkdom and boredom at the same time in the same person. And file me under the "bored and irked, and therefore probably 'no fun.'"
