I've been growing more apprehensive about this the closer it gets, particularly the number of things I'm now obligated to review. Self-doubting, avoidant personality for the win.

Hey St. Pat and DJack, how are things coming along?

Because I'm just realising "oh shit, I have about a week to go" and I've only got a handful of songs that I'm thinking about including. So I'm going to have to kick it into high this week.

I'm just doing a sampling of some of my very favorite songs. I could do an accurate mix chronicling how my taste in music has shifted from age 3 to today, but it would take a lot of work and a lot more time than this offers.

Dumpjack's mix is complete and ready to go as far as I know. St. P, I'm not quite sure.

I'm so excited. The mix exchange finally gets under way...

By the way, everyone should expect an E-mail from me regarding the reviews.

I'll actually have ample time to listen to these mixes since the kind of work I do now allows for me to listen to music all day.

Listening to the few tracks I'd been mulling on including now and I'm beginning to doubt. I hate to misrepresent myself but it's hard not to when you've only got about twenty songs out of a collection of thousands to choose from.

I think, in an attempt simplify things, I am going to choose two songs each from 8 different artists that folks here aren't as familiar with, but that I used to listen to prior to Jan 1998 (the pre-Ok Computer era as I like to refer to it).

Tentatively done.

19 tracks and 74 minutes of orchestral pop, quiet indieish music, bedroom eccentrics, alternative rock, rock and roll, and harp-folk.

Then prepare to be made fun of because I (apparently) have really bad taste in music.

So they say.

The mix exchange is officially underway. I've E-mailed Dumpjack, Saint Patrick, and Alongwaltz the mailing addresses they'll be sending their mixes to. I've also started threads in the MIX FORUM so please check them out when you get the chance.
