What's this "order" and "coming in the mail" you speak of?

I just stole some Brazilian Girls songs from slsk. Does that count?

I went to Amoeba this week and got all these fairly cheap:

The Cure – The Head on the Door (remastered deluxe)
The Glove – Blue Sunshine (remastered deluxe)
Jeff Buckley – Grace (three disc)
The Stooges – Fun House (remastered deluxe)
Secret Machines – Ten Silver Drops
Muse – Black Hole and Revelations (CD + DVD)
Spoon – A Series of Sneaks
Vitalic – OK Cowboy
Black Mountain – st
The Go! Team – Thunder, Lightning, Strike

I prefer the ritual of buying music at a record store but I'm lucky because I have Amoeba.

About two hours ago I would have said . . .

Kayo Dot - Choirs of the Eye
Maudlin of the Eye - Bath
Maudlin of the Eye - Leaving the Body Map

. . . but I just found them in my mail tonight.

But I do have the new Damien Jurado and the Isis/Aerogramme that both come out next week ordered from Amazon. I unfortunately don't have time to scour the local stores for new releases anymore - I gave up hoping they'd have them because they let me down so many times. Now I rely on the indie shops for used stuff. They make more that way anyway from what I understand.

Besides Obnerball winnings?

I think I ordered most of The Blow's back catalog (and the new one) earlier in the week, but it might've been a work-induced hallucinaton...

Girl Talk is on the way. Where do you guys order from? I get a lot of stuff from Parasol. And will be getting quite a bit more from them now that Tower is finished. Tower may have been overpriced but I loved the convenience since Amoeba is a bit out of the way for me. I didn't mind paying more at Tower because A) I do love strolling the aisles looking for stuff instead of just loading an online shopping cart and B) I'm a rich motherfucker who doesn't care about price anyway. So in the last 18 months CD Warehouse and now Tower in Mountain View and in Campbell will be non-existent. I guess Virgin Mega is the only chain with "long tail" merchandise available at brick and mortar locations. For shame. Only Gen-X 32 year olds like myself will lament this new paradigm. I guess the kids these days have nothing to be nostalgic about.

Don't have one.

Choices of places to buy music in Oshawa:
HMV, Sunrise, CD Plus, Future Shop, used cd store

I won't be able to find any of these used. And I checked the first three for the Furnaces disc to no luck.

Now if I were looking for the new Killers, there wouldn't be a problem.

Like I said in the other thread...rock 'n' jazz...they get my business...other genres, they've got nothin'.

OH...but I did happen by and grab an old Mojo Nixon album and an El Vez EP this morning...so that should count for somethin'.
