I don't know much about metric, but people seem to be talking about the Emily Haines and the Soft Skeleton album. is there anything to that?

everybody (critics) seems to really like it but it doesn't do too terribly much for me. i think the love is part bss-circle jerk, part that she's really freaking hot. but i've only listened to the whole thing once through.

I downloaded, listened once, and deleted.

The only thing non-BSS of hers that I've particularly liked is the Old World Underground, Where Are You Now? record.

Their early stuff and this new one aren't terribly interesting.

yeah, she is but it hasn't helped me like her music much, and although she's got a nice voice...still nah
