huh. maybe it's just me, but from the previews for next week i gathered this is what it will be about?

Yeah, the preview showed Locke being stricken dumb and building something with Charlie. But Charlie said something like "where are the other two?" and Locke made a motion like he didn't know.

i wonder if they showed different previews here? the one i saw showed locke saying he was going to "save mr. eko's life" and then showed eko in some obvious distress...as well as showing hurley talking to a nekkid desmond.

I think there's only a few they deem worthy of "saving" and they have them.

I did have a problem with seeing Trixie so soon after she flasshed the titties and shot up Hearst in Deadwood, but I'm way in the minority I bet.

Anyway, the Lost folks are paying a price for being criminals or bad people in real life, and those who are spared may be worth salvaging... It's escape from LA/New York/Island. A prison.

Yeah, your description is entirely different. Ours had Locke unable to speak, then looking insane, saying he needed to talk to the island, and looking like he was going to butcher Charlie.

I openly cheered. Best single moment of the series so far. Fuck The Others and all their "we're on your side, unless you turn against us" bullshit. They've been the enemy from the get-go, no matter how many times they try playing the martyr card. Good for Sun. Now, let's have Sawyer start his campaign of destruction...

Perfect analysis. Can't believe I hadn't made the connection until you pointed it out for me. Well done, P'Shaw!

so, why did they leave the boat just docked there with Sun in it? Considering she can sail, why not moor it like 40 feet out on the water? Come to think of it, why didn't they do that anyway? How does Sayid plan this shit so intricately and then come to "I'm a hide in a tree and light a fire"?

Lost generally, or this episode? I don't think it's clear at all that it's either, but pretty much every character's undergoing a sinner/redemption struggle in one way or another, so the latter characterization is plausible enough.

Sun

momma issues:

I'm sure I'm missing someone, plus there's likely more to come.

Cotton speaks the truth. A theme does not a central organizing element make.

doesn't "This is a daddy-issues show" kind of make it sound like you did?

Yeah, I'm with Phil on this one. It's not a generalization whatsoever, when you look at each individual character. We can pretty much definitely add Walt to characters with Daddy issues, as well.

I wasn't trying to say that it wasn't prevalent, just that that's not necessarily what the show was about. But apparently frosted was not arguing that with me, Harry, so never mind.

Has anybody noticed how many of the characters have mysterious island issues? Curiouser and curiouser.

Yeah, without getting into semantics, I tend to agree.
