besides the dead guy they've had both Jason Newsted and Robert Trujillo on bass.

they flip flopped jobs, and Jason took Robert's job playing with Ozzy.

Robert played with Suicidal Tendencies and The Infectious Grooves, motherfucker of a player, too bad he's playing bullshit now.

I did not realize that. Good thing I made my statements questions in my original post. :)

What about Better Than Ezra? Stacey?

Saw ST in about 93 at the Fox in Atlanta. Holy jeebus Trujillo was a MONSTER. Gott Damn. 6 string Modulus, and he beat the piss out of it.

Nope. Band was originally Tim, his brother Jaimme (see Jaimme's Got a Girl), and Nick Tischler on bass.

I think Jaimme left before they recorded anything, but Nick was definitely on the Snake Tide EP.

And they haven't been a 3-piece since Davey Lane joined around the time of Dress Me Slowly

--> is now Tim, Andy, Rusty, Davey

I thought about Kate Scellenbach, but the DJ doesn't really count nor does Money Mark or Biz. Alot of people have been on there albums and contributed to their sound, but essentially they are known as a trio and were a trio on their first proper release. Some Old Bullshit that features their punk sound came later.

U2 has an incredible record of longevity... all original members since what?...1979? I don't think any member has even released a solo album or side-project album. Unprecedented.

Dave Mustaine (megadeth) was also the original lead guitarist before Kirk Hammett and they had another bassist before Cliff Burton who's name escapes me.

Rancid was a trio on their first album.
Lars joined for the second album.

But:
The Sea and Cake are still Sam, Eric, Archer, and John.
And, I think Tortise are all the same guys, too?

the girl in the "perfect kiss" video isn't with the band anymore. (she's married to someone in the band, right?) and she wasn't in the original lineup. i'm totally blanking on her name.

edit: gillian gilbert, married to stephen morris. she joined shortly after they properly became new order and left in 2001.

Yo La Tengo?
What about Sloan?

You know, I think Los Lobos added Steve Berlin after a couple years, but that's been the same guys since the mid-70's, right - first EP in the late 70's?

Yo La: No.
James was not part of the original lineup, and Dave Schramm was, at some point with the band -- he's on Fakebook. James is not.
