Yeah it was the big story over the weekend.

Miami responded by suspending the guy who swung his helmet at a player indefinitely and suspending 5 players for one game (against Duke).


Pathetic.

Seriously, Miami's response has been stuck in my craw all damn week.

i guess donna shalala was on mike & mike this morning talking about the incident. i didn't start listening until after her segment, but they broke down what she said and figured out that she hasn't actually seen the tape herself. maybe once the president, y'know, watches the tape (just saying you were at the game does not make it ok), more serious suspensions will be handed down. i also don't believe the conference will let them slide with those suspensions.

What's even worse is the dickhead announcer calling the game who starts backing them up during the incident if you watch the video on youtube.

well... technically the worst part of the youtube vid is when, towards the end, the Georgia/Vandy final score comes up. But after that, the fight, for sure.

How about the on-air Miami commentator that was fired for him saying how that's what happens when you come in our house and start stuff.

apparently some new guy at my company was at this game, he's a miami alum. i just went over to his desk and bashed him in the head with my bike helmet, then i jumped up and down making a 'whoop' like noise for 30 seconds.
i dont think he liked it too much.

As bad as that fight is a black eye to college football, the Miami presidents respose was even worse.

There are over 100 Division I schools that play every Saturday and something on this scale rarely happens. Miami has been involved in 3 incidents in about 8 games THIS YEAR. That includes the Peach Bowl where they brawled with LSU after getting smoked.

What do you have to do to be kicked off? Hide a shank in your jock strap and stab someone?

FIU was not without fault and they responded accordingly, 16 suspensions for mulitple games and kicked 2 off the team.

Miami: 1 indefinite suspension, 5 single game suspensions.

Complete joke.

Marcus Vick stepped on an opposing player last year after a play and was kicked off the team. These guys had time to think about running onto the field and hit someone.

I don't hate Miami. I just wish there was some fucking personal responsibility these days.

Whatever happened to the days when you only talk smack to your opponent to 'psych' them out? Like, "Yeah man, we'll beat you so bad, yo moma's gonna have to suit up for the game."
