I've never heard either, but I think I've seen Still Life in pretty much every used bin ever. I feel like I should be able to get a copy for free.

Released in 1982 which means it was recorded during a period where Ron Wood was doing thousands of dollars of freebase a week. Keith probably wasn't far behind and Mick was contemplating a solo career.

Almost unlistenable. Almost. I mean, they attempt to cover "Going to a Go-Go".

From Allmusic:

Like Love You Live before it, Still Life showcases the Stones as pure entertainers, although the band adds enough rhythmic grit to keep the record from sinking into pure showbiz formula. Nevertheless, it isn't nearly enough grit to make it rock as hard as Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! or even Love You Live, depressingly enough.

Funny, Derris, I was going to write "Still Life has 'Going to A - Go- Go' On It"

I am partial to "Love You Live" Over All of Em.

Stones Live Albums:
1) Love You Live
2) Git Yer Ya-Ya's Out"
2a) Keef Richards and the X-Pensive Winos Live at the Paladium
3) Flashpoint
4) Still Life
5) Got Live if You Want It
6) No Security (automatic disqualification due to appearance by Dave Matthews)

I'm with you on Love You Live if for nothing else the version of 'If You Can Rock Me' that goes into 'Get Off Of My Cloud'. That shit rocks. Plus those were apparently the only good shows from that ENTIRE TOUR because Keef was so zooted.

I still gotta go with Ya-Ya's just because of the sequence in 'Midnight Rambler' when Mick sings "Well you heard about the Boston..." and someone in the crowd yells "GODDAMN!"

Flaspoint. Wow.

Ya-ya's is still the standard against which all other Stones "live" records are measured. It has the fire (and Mick Taylor) that 'Love You Live' does not.

Love you Live also has their cover of "Crackin Up" which might be my favorite cover they have ever done.

Great document of the Stones during the "smack years".

This is why I love Ya-Ya's. It's one of my favourite live songs ever, I like it more than the studio cut actually. It's just way, way more menacing, which you could say for the whole album actually. When I was in Cancun this year, I played Ya-Ya's incessantly. It just fit.

As for the ranking, I haven't heard Love You Live or Still Life in forever, probably on vinyl actually. I've never heard any of the latter day live albums.
