the reviewer made no point whatsoever. Terrible review. Oh, their lyrics *might* have some Christian themes running through them, and that makes them totally uncool.

WEAK.

my thoughts exactly.

I was curious, so I checked out the CWK website to further investigate the allegations of religiosity (the lyrics never really struck me as being over the top, but I can be kinda dense sometimes). They have a really cool tour blog. PFM sucks.

This is how PFM will bury itself. And another example of "we didn't make them, so we will not like them."

agree, what a fucking joke.

and once again, it's unfortunate that people pay attention to crap review sites like Pitchfork, and don't just hit up blogs and get the instant satisfaction of listening to the music right then and deciding for themselves.

the sad reality is that the democratization of music-scouting too often results in listeners gravitating toward artists that sound like their favorite bands rather than unearthing new, brave, oft-ignored sounds.

This is as far as I read. I am not one who goes around trying to unearth new, brave, oft-ignored sounds. I am gonna record my farting in the bathtub tonight, though, and submit it to PFM as "Demo". Yeah, I like bands that sort of bear a resemblence to my favorite bands. That's why they're my favorite bands.

midway through listening to this.

my initial negative thoughts:

- the dudes voice never changes his tone and oversings every single word.
- the drummer has zero sense of time and makes meg white sound like max roach

my initial positive thoughts:

- sounds like there are enough hooks and interesting parts for me to get used to the voice and end up liking it.

A friend burned this for me abt 2 weeks ago, and it's been stuck in my CD player ever since. Very nice indeed.

Kind of like Jack White sings over old Spoon. The singer oversings but the hooks are mostly worth it. This will make my top 5.
