CMJ Recommendations

I'll be in NY for the Marathon for the first time. I'll have a badge. I know I want to see The Slits, Apples In Stereo, and The Fall for sure. Anyone else I should check out? Any places in NY I should visit?

i'm there 10/29-11/5. didn't get a badge.

i'll be at the following:
11/1- the knife (late show). if tix are still avail, i HIGHLY recommend that show. it's supposed to be a great visual show live. lo-fi-fnk is playing a good afterparty.

brooklyn vegan is doing a day showcase which is going to be great: little ones, land of talk, css

11/2- hot chip and then going to iforward russia! i recommend both of those.

i'm also trying to get in to the bowery on 11/3 for kevin devine, annuals, fields.

i'll elaborate more later, there's plenty of good day and afterparties as well.

looks like wintersleep is playing at this thing. i've never had the opportunity to see them (not very popular in the states/rarely play here), but i've heard they're good live, so you may want to check them out while you're there.

yes i did. 10/29-11/5. coming in around 3:30pm on sunday. staying in lower east side until the 1st then in fort greene.

schedule's pretty packed but maybe dinner on tues or wed? i just found out about a blue note showcase on tues night that i have to go to, but it starts at 6:30 so maybe an early dinner. i'll get in touch with you when the date gets closer after i figure out the show schedule.
