Don't click on it or whatever. But for crying out loud this is going to incite an epileptic seizure.

I think it is terrible advertising. I have no clue what would possess anyone to purposely click one of the those banner ads. I always think it will open up a ton of windows on your comp like they did back in the old days, when you accidentally hit them on questionable sites.

I'm sure it is for that time frame, wasn't that all the internet was good for in the early 90's?

Sorry.
I was joking about the seizure.

I like to joke about my medical conditions.
Especially since they're all in my head!

Get it?
All in my head!?!?!?!

*slaps knee*

Yes, it is. Look at how you reposted it, and on top of that, it got your attention. It did its job, and you have to think that at least a percentage of people will click on it, even if it is only 1%.

getting my attention does not lead to a sale, nor do I even know what the advertisement is/was about. I cannot even read half of it. It's like one of those M.C. Escher drawings.

And those 1% need to be shot. repeatedly.

What about those horribly creepy mortgage rate ads that have been running on hotmail and stuff for the past few years?

Like the one where it's this animated wiggling snake, and each segment of it is a different state. Who the fuck would click on that?

Now at least they've switched to less disturbingly ugly banners and are using these dancing silhouettes of people. But WTF? Who does this shit?

Yeah but how else do you explain billboards along the highway as you whiz past at 70+? Or what about logos on clothes? I took a class one semester on this type of stuff. This is the bread and butter of graphic design. True, its not aesthetically pleasing but it made you stop in yr tracks for a few seconds.

I guess that makes sense. But it just seems like that kind of ad is only going to make me stop in my tracks to get irritated by it as opposed to actually pay attention to the product.

Sure, that commercial where it looks like the guy cut the cats throat right when his girl walks in is funny as hell, but I couldn't tell you what the product was or how it even related to that product. I guess I don't understand how grabbing people's attention actually translates into sales.
