Yeah, I mean who could have ever figured out someone named ANGUS was of Scottish origin???

Um, well at the very least all the Sydney-North-Shore-private-school-types who have been naming their soon-to-be-rich spawn Angus for YEARS...

But you should know that claiming any relatively successful person with even the most tenuous links to this country as one of our own is something that we excel at - AC/DC, Split Enz/Crowded House, Russel Crowe

As for the Croat thing, yeah, there's a bunch of them over here, same as Italians, Greeks, Vietnamese, Chinese, Lebanese, Pommy backpackers...

And the reason there's so many of them in the national team is that all the Anglo boys dump soccer for rugby (or league in the country) when they get to high school, while the Croats/Italians/Greeks/whatever keep playing soccer, luckily, or otherwise we would still be shit

Even though I knew that, I still considered them to be Aussie. Why? The Scots have a rich tradition in music, and to them added AC/DC would just be another notch on the belt, while to Australia they would friggin name a city after them.

actually, i'd say both countries are about on par with each other when you consider their contributions to modern music, but then again, most of my favourite bands are Australian..

Also, AC/DC are Australian. The brothers moved here when they were very young, the band was formed and cut their teeth here. Australian.

If that is the logic for determining a band's nationality, then Liars and the Distillers are also Australian (but you can have them anyway..)

Not that those two bands are anything alike or anything.
