not sayin' they're not any good, just saying that their sound is theirs and theirs only. When anyone else does it just sounds silly.

New MCR = Queen
New Killers = Springsteen
New Modest Mouse = Scoripions... why not?

MCR are leading the emo pack. Fall Out Boy is tame next to them, more pop punk than anything. I don't get how Panic and FOB get blasted for being emo when they're clearly upbeat (though Panic is gay) and give MCR a free ride though they're the White Snake to Panic's Great White.

You should be listening to Dylan.

Anyone who "shoulds" another person needs an 8-track tossed at their head.

I definitely hear some queen in Muse but it is only slight. To tell you the truth the only MCR song I have ever really heard is the black parade song and I don't really hear a lot of queen in that.

There is nothing wrong with being infuenced by. My issue comes in when bands try to BE who they're influenced by or even think they're better than (i.e., Oasis).

I hate most pop-punk singing voices and the song progression of having just enough crunch to sound aggressive but pulling back at key moments to get on softer radio stations. Very predictable and tiresome.

I appreciate the glimpses of humor and self-deprecation, but not the vocals of most pop-punk artists or the predictability of the soft-loud.

So that's a way of saying "catchy, but still sucks."
