Im debating over whether to include a tracklisting. Its probably a lot more fun listen when you dont know whats coming. Any thoughts? Id put one up in the Mix Forum for review purposes

That's fine, and I completely agree with you. I just wanted to give people that option.

You should be receiving a mix from Saint Patrick or Alongwaltz or Dumpjack in the next week or so.

Please make sure to post in this thread when you receive it. It's just a courtesy post for the senders.

They'll go out tomorrow. I just realized I have no cds, so when I drop them in the mail, I'll post here. Also they'll likely take more than a week.

Should go out tomorrow. Had to pick up some more blank cd's today and I'm waiting for the covers to dry right now.

I have no idea how much it's going to cost me at the post office tomorrow for all the bubbly envelopes and American stamps. I don't want to think about it.

$20.14

Add the $15 or so that the blank cd's cost and this will probably be the last mix exchange I participate in. I can't justify spending $35 just to get some mixed cd's in the mail when I could download the tracks off the internet for free.

Exactly how many cds did you send out that it costs $15? I just bought 50 cd-rs for $20.

wasn't this why you weren't in on the last one either?

you're going to have a hard time moving out of your parents' house (and being financially independent) if a mix exchange is serious scratch.

I buy ten packs. They're usually about $10. But, in the process of burning ten copies, I got four that were terminated with errors for some reason.

I was in on the last one, I just did a one person swap because I couldn't really justify spending this much. $30 is nothing. But do I really want to spend $30 just to get some mixes in the mail? I don't know.

I picked up a 50-pack of Sony CD-Rs for $7.99 at K-Mart, if anyone needs some discs on the cheap and/or cares to venture into that sort of place. :nugene:

My mixes are basically done for this weekend or thereabouts. Sort of antsy about how indie-routine the song selections might be, but whutevah. I didn't start listening to music (quite literally any music) until like '94 so I basically went with the stuff that got me to where I am now. or something like that. At the very least, I like how the covers came out.

Everyone got unique cover art for my batch but, due to a clerical error, shiv and Drinky got each other's cd's. The tracklisting is the same so it's not a big deal but I'm still kicking myself.

Mine are out now, so those in my group should expect them in about 4-6 weeks just like Columbia House.

so let me get a few things straight...

is everyone following the "theme" first and foremost (ie songs that define you)???

is everyone going to NOT provide a track listing?

I put a tracklisting on my discs, but I'd prefer if people just throw them on and check it later.

As for the theme, the tracks I picked weakly relates to me and the music that influenced me. In short, it's a bunch of songs I put together while I was drinking gin and tonics one night.

Tracklisting on the inside cover of each. It's only courteous.

Mine is just a collection of some of my favorite songs. Maybe not songs that defined my life, but could be construed as songs that define me as I am today.
