"Dear Idlewild, I wanna rock, and you're not delivering anymore. The new album sounds like fucking Switchfoot-american-radio-friendly-rock. Where the hell are the riffs? The catchy, singalong choruses? Why did you do this to me!!!"

Yes, it's crap.

(<----- thought that one was pretty disappointing)

shut yer monkey face. 100 Broken Windows was fantastic. Idea Track? Roseability? These are rock ass songs. Sure the Remote Part was a huge suck ass piece of crap and I'm sure their downward slide will continue but I'm gonna cling dearly to my copy of 100 Broken Windows and defend it to the death.

I totally agree. 100 Broken Windows is an awesome album. Hope Is Important was decent in a raw kind of way. The Remote Part was the beginning of their downfall.

The Remote Part was OK. "Modern Way Of Letting Go" was my favorite track on it by far.

Never really liked them. They are made for Amerian "Alternative" radio though. I'm surpsied they're not huge.

Man, y'all need to stop hatin' on The Remote Part. "Modern Way of Letting Go", "You Held The World In Your Arms" and "American English"... the whole thing's packed with good songs.

Bummed about the word on the new album, though. I was looking forward to that one.

Shut up about my monkey face! My mom said that it's wat's on the inside that counts...
Idlewild seem to me like some sort of trying-to-be-threatening marshmallow with a chewy gummi center.... it just doesn't taste good to me, and I've tried to get into "100 Broken..." many times.

They used to be an excellent band (especially live) but then Roddy starting thinking he was Michael Stipe and it was all down hill from there. I haven't even heard the last two albums.

i am listening to uit after getting it on oink, and it is indeed pretty lame.

I liked the Remote Part, a lot. This is generic garbage. There has been one tune that was remotely decent. haha, I made a pun.
