...here is the first song I ever wrote:
eLeMeNO - "Every Kane" (ca. 1991)
http://www.sendspace.com/file/w4mty0

I'm playing lead guitar and singing backing vox. in the "na-na" part.
Recorded by Dave Trumfio in his basement studio, the precursor to KingSize Sound Labs in Chicago (where Summerteeth and many Mekons records were magnetized).

I'll probably bump once or twice for interested parties.

My old punk band's Naked Raygun cover:
ChewToy - "Rat Patrol"
http://www.sendspace.com/file/6dx5ti

Recorded at Wall-To-Wall, when it was still the Columbia College studio, back in 1995. For free. Yay! I play bass and sing backing vox.

It's either post it, or loose it.
Possibly both, but I prefer to try to share what I've done.
I would prefer if other people on this board did the same... I personally like to hear the musical history of the people here who actually create and not just talk.

bort, being a prime example. I appreciate that he posts his recordings.
Thanks, Mark.

EDIT: Or would you prefer that I make a seperate post for each song?

No, I'm interested in seeing where this goes in just one thread. It would have been funnier if you would have street teamed these bands as if you weren't in them. Wait a minute, you weren't in Shrimpboat, were you?

Actually, I'm done with the mp3s in this thread (unless you really want more of this).
The Naked Raygun cover was an afterthought.

And, for the record, these songs are not my proudest moments. But they exist, and I worked hard on them at the time and thought they were pretty good at that time, too.

But this is justa bout the only place you'll be able to hear these songs (and some might be thankful for that).

glad to hear i am an inspiration, todd! though i personally wouldn't make a seperate post for each one of my recorded songs, as i don't want to de-throne whomever is in the top posting spot. my suggestion of course would be to make a mix of old songs, demos, etc and put 'em on one compilation, with unnecessarily extensive liner notes. if you are going to "document" your work you might as well do it right, even if it's only for yourself. but that's just me.
