According to the Saddle Creek website he is. They have his tour dates for his solo shows on their calendar.
I hope he does more shows in this area now. He should play with M Ward at his gig in September.

I don't really have many other options for successful labels around here.

Saddle Creek has signed Eric Bachman. Bachman is well-known from his songwriting role in Archers of Loaf, and he stepped out on his own when that band disbanded in 1998. He previously released a record under the name Crooked Fingers, but the disc for Saddle Creek will be the first bearing his name.

The label will be releasing Bachman's new album, To The Races which promises "a more direct, spartan approach," on August 22nd.

I'm just surprised he left Merge in favor of Saddle Creek.

I don't care what label he's on as long as they allow him to make a little money and keep making records. Love this guy and he's only gotten better with age.

Good to hear about the new one.

I actually just listened to Crooked Fingers "dignity & shame" for the first time this morning. good stuff, even if he comes off like a Neil Diamond wannabe on some of the songs. It'll grow on me, I'm sure.

To the Races is easily in my top 10 and climbing. I just discovered Crooked Fingers last year but this guy is boss. Great lyrics. Especially compared to other singer-songwriters on Saddle Creek. How is he live? Would love to see a show.

saw him live about 3 weeks ago. just a phenomenal guy. how he didnt make the whole 'top 100 living songwriters' thing is unbelievable. Even his AOL stuff was great, but Crooked Fingers and his solo work is very good.

I love Crooked Fingers and this album is good, but it would probably be the worst or maybe second worse CF album (Red Devil Dawn being the competitor), so if you're interested in CF, definitely check out one of the others ahead of this.

"Lonesome Warrior" from the new one is a great song.

i really like red devil dawn. this album was disappointingly slow, but i think that that's why it's not a crooked fingers record.

Didn't like red devil dawn at all. It was the first crooked fingers I had heard. Bachman's hokey Pogues-ish voice put me off.

Doesn't sound like I'll like the new one either. Too bad; Archers were the shit.

Obviously not too well-known. I like Archers Of Loaf and had no idea that they were connected to Crooked Fingers in anyway. Nor did I know that Bachman was a member of the former and was the latter.
