Is he at all special? I don't think so.

So... in that vanity press tell-all that he's touring behind (and in the related interviews) Obama has been admitting to drug use as a young man, i.e. yes, he did inhale. And blow.

He is a different kind of candidate... and that a "difference" is his gimmick, doesn't alter that he's behaving differently.

i think an obama / almost-anyone ticket has the best chance for the democrats for 08. hillary is too polarizing, but wouldn't hurt as the VP candidate in such a ticket. i like obama much more than hillary for pres. and would welcome them both to break the minority/women barrier at pres/vp.

the only candidate i'd put before obama is al gore. don't know if he'll run either. doubtful.

I think Paladisiac is really a republican cause he obviously doesn't want the Dems to win. A black man AND a woman. No way.

I agree. Honestly, I'm really surprised at how many people seem to think Hillary has a shot of she runs. Sure, she has more clout than any woman to run in the history of the country, but enough to become the first female president? I think she'd lose by at least a solid 10%.

We must preserve the family dynasty!

I can only pray for O'bama's entrance into the race. I think that he might not do it to give his family some privacy.

i feel the same about hillary. i don't think she'll win if she's the pres nom.

but obama might sneak in as a minority pres because he's kinda tiger-woods-ish black. that's more superficialy acceptable to racist republicans.

another point:

eventually a woman or minority is going to be president. i'm just not sure the country is ready now nor will be ready in my lifetime (unfortunately).

I'd love to see Obama run. There's something about the guy- he actually seems genuine (gasp). Granted, I haven't followed him that closely, and I'm sure there are some warts there somewhere, but I really like him.

As for his or Hillary's potential for sucess, it's anyone's guess. He does seem less polarizing than Hillary, and comes off as being pretty "white." If he ran and lost, I'd like to think he'd at least change some minds out there, and hopefully he'd run again. He's young enough.

I think the guy's great and my favorite of the viable candidates (assuming he actually would run), but I'd still be shocked if he ran and won.

Did you even pay attention to Chris Rock? Besides, it's pretty obvious that we're really never going to grow up. case in point.

Sounds like we expect the most accomplished, progressive, forward-thinking Country on the face of the planet to remain narrow minded for whatever umpteen years or millennium. Not too exemplary as the lone leader of the free world.

Britain, India and Israel accomplished the same feat and they 're still alive and stable.
