Guided By Voices: Watch Me Jumpstart is pretty cool, too.

Don't forget The Electrifying Conclusion. It's grueling at something like 4 hours long, but it's a friggin' amazing concert set nonetheless.

Do you mean their last concert ever? That was a terrible show in my opinion...they were a shadow of their Isolation Drills days...

Isolation Drills? That was only like 3 years before. Had you said UtBUtS, I might agree, but tEC was a pretty damned impressive event. Sloppy, but impressive. I mean, come on - 63 songs? And Bob manages to stay just sober enough to continue performing? That's got to be worth something.

I have a bunch of them that I don't watch often. I think the ones I watch the most are:
Live: Shadow slightly edges out the Springsteen disc of the London show followed by the Black Keys in Austin
Docs: X's Unhead Music, the Ramones one, Cocksucker Blues
Videos: I dunno, Pavement? Spile Jonze? Booty Classic Throwbacks?

If you're a fan:
The Devil and Daniel Johnston

Depressing, but excellent.

The Who - The Kids are Alright remastered version
Pretty interesting film in its own right, but the updated remastered version has put back in formerly deleted scenes, cleaned up the visuals as well as the audio, and have added some amazing features, like the process of restoring the film, interviews with band members, interview with the director (who is quite clearly a ex-druggie from the 60s), and some really interesting trivia.

R.E.M. Succumbs
I haven't watched this video in forever-- yes, I have it on VHS. But I believe it was the first video "album" R.E.M. ever put out, and it's mostly just random films set to music. It also reminds me of how far they've come, because the videos, while entertaining, are very amateur and art-schoolish, something I really miss about them.

I caught Part II: The Metal Years from 1988 recently on IFC, and that thing absolutely REEKED of hair metal. But it was funny, because even though it was released four years later than This is Spinal Tap, it almost seemed like the real thing. I'll give Spheeris credit for her angle on the shots of her interviews with Paul Stanley. Dude had GAME.

The Metal Years is an absolute awesome train wreck.

The parade of meathead nobodies they interview is hysterical. Every last one of them say the same thing: "I am GOING to make it or I'll die trying".

The guy from WASP guzzling vodka in a pool, fully clothed, in front of his mom, and, the DOUCHEBAGS that the film tauts as the next big act in the jacuzzi are all hilarious and sad at the same time.

Avoid Metal: A Headbanger's Journey at all costs. It starts out enjoyable and ventures into slam-your fingers-in-the-car-door territory.
