I was under the assumption that Locke's camp, Ana-Lucia's camp, Rousseau, and Juliet's house are all on Island 1.

Island 2 is just home to the the current locale where Jack and co. are being held. Presumedly it was originally a separate island because of the zoos and the animals.

My theory on the second island is that it actually exists, but can't be seen from the main island. Why? no clue, but I think that's why Michael and Walt got such detailed directions at the end of season 2 to head home... and why the island can't be viewed by the outside world as seen in the end of season 2 with the artic guys.

Obviously, Desmond has the power to see about a day in the future after the blast and has no clue what to do with it. I think we will see Claire digging on Desmond soon and Charlie not happy about it.

The best spoiler evidence I've seen about who will die, is that every main character killed off has ended up on Regis the very next day. DO NOT spoil it on this thread, but looking at the guest list of Regis/Kelley show next Thursday should tip you off.

Remember, the Others were adamant that the crash survivors not cross that line they drew in the dirt last season - I'm guessing now because they knew if they were able to get to that side of the island they'd see the other island. This would also be why Ben was so upset they had a boat.

I agree. I don't think Jack was hand-picked by the Others. Fate is still a major part of the show.

But it would explain why Ben seemed to be ready for the plane crash. And as implausible as this sounds, remember that the others were probably monitoring Desmond, and that we don't really know anything about the guy he was in the hatch with (then killed). Maybe he worked for the others, and lured Desmond out of the hatch at just the right time...
