These bands are all touring together and coming through here next month. I'm looking forward to it, especially since my options are usually limited in NE Florida.

The Mute Math that I've heard is pretty solid. Some of the songs are kind of poppy but good.

I love The Whigs new album. Can't get enough of that one.

I played some Jonezetta clips from their myspace page and they sound like an 80s, retro dance outfit akin to The Killers. It has promise. Anybody heard their full debut release yet?

I don't think you can go wrong with it. The review of it at allmusic.com is pretty much right on in my opinion.

For half a second I thought this was a Greg Dulli-Johnette Napolitano collab and got a little excited.

Weird...I just listened to Jonezetta like 30 minutes ago...

Sounded like a new wave-y version of pop emo bands like Mae and Juliana Theory. It was OK....

Got the Whigs album in a dollar bin last week. It's very excellent.

Been looking forward to this show for weeks now. The Mute Math album will deff have a spot in my top 10 at year's end.

Sort of. Some of their songs are written so that they could just as easily be performed in some wednesday night church service but they're pretty vague about the subject of their lyrics. Some of the songs could just as easily be about a girl or something.

They don't have anything about how Jesus saves though. Overall I'd say it's pretty harmless stuff. Plus, due to their lawsuit against their label, I'd say they're not wanting to be labeled as jesus rockers.

I think some MuteMath songs have some direct references to a Christian faith, but it's not explicit in the sense that they are trying to wrap it around your face like Third Day or somebody. And they have been trying to dodge the Christian market from the get go.

I think they do what they do very well and manage to bring a level of sophistication to their "experimental electronics fused with brit pop and Sting-ish vocals" sound. But I wouldn't put them in the same camp as Danielson, Sufjan Stevens, Viva Voce, or Starflyer 59. MM aren't bringing as many fresh musical ideas to the table.
