They are using Doves "Words" as their premier song to kick off "Thursday Night Football."

Excellent song by a great band (love the first two and like third album) but Doves and NFL just doesn't seem right.

BTW, did you know the NFL Network put a bid in to purchase a part of the MLB playoffs? Turner's TBS finally got that part of the contract but it would have been interesting if they actually pulled that off. They said in the future they would be in better position to make a splash in other sports playoffs.

Weird. You'd think if any other sport they'd go after a playoff that doesn't go head to head with the NFL season. To me the problem the NFL Network has is proving it's worth February to August

Which is why I would imagine they would be interested in purchasing some MLB playoff games--positioning. They have obviously convinced themselves that they are viable as a sports network. I wouldnt be surprised to see them go after something that is in that offseason window but can be had cheaply like the NHL which I believe I could buy the broadcast rights for right now just by trading them my 2004 Ford F-150 with 65,000 miles.

Does that truck have a gun rack or some steer horns tide with leather to the bumper?
