Can't say that I have, however, I had 2 experiences in the last 3 weeks that freaked me out. Both happened around 3am. I would wake up thinking someone had just whispered something to me. The first instance were the whispered words, "Goodnight, Goodbye." The next one about a week later whispered, "Come on let's go. Let's go outside." And all those cliche` coldspells and hair on end tingling happened. Weird huh? I say if it happens a 3rd time then it is a haunting.

Not that it's the same thing, but I have experienced what could only be classified as "waking dreams," where I'm still asleep but my eyes are open and I see things, but can't move. Not necessarily scary things, but it's often accompanied by a feeling of a heavy weight on one's chest, not allowing them to move.

The incubus/succubus of medieval times was believe to be responsible for that heavy feeling on the chest. You better hope science is right.

Sounds like a Beatles/Richie Valens split single. Nothing to worry about.

My house here is haunted. Poltergiest style.
Mostly stuff vanishes completely and then re appears in plain sight anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks later.

A couple of months ago I surprised him (the wife and I feel its a male) when I went downstairs after hours.
I walked into the restaurant via the kitchen, and when I came around the corner, I heard the scrunch of feet on concrete and then running... right through three interior walls  out of the building and into the back of my property.
The security lights came on as the footsteps hit the grass behind the restaurant.
no kidding swear on a stack of bibles cross my heart and hope to die true.

I don't believe in ghosts or hauntings. But I certainly believe in residual energy fields and the effect those can have on places and people.

Nah, it's the idea that past physical presence leaves an emf residue and the more strong the event or person, the more residue.

Like a battlefield would have tremendous residue which would be extrapolated by those impressionable to believing in ghosts as actually being ghosts, when those "ghosts" are actually the remant of a tremendous occurance which left a physical trail behind.

Back in '93 a few weeks after my grandma died I could've swore someone came into my room & kissed me on the cheek waking me up one morning before school. I figured it was my mom so I opened my eyes & no one was there. I would've dismissed it as a dream but since my grandmother just died I always had this weird feeling about it.

Yeah, I believe those so-called spirits are not the actual dead people. They are imprints. Like one movie scene burning in the air that plays over and over until something external dissipates the field. And the scene is caused by great trauma or great joy or great stubborness, which leaves an energy trail. The actual people are actually really dead; not ghosts.

I do not however have an explanation for malevolent and physically harmful manifestations which haven't been explained away as psychosis, mostly because I'm undecided in my faith what I literally believe about demons and think maybe people's minds may occasionally be potent enough to cause physical changes to their environements; changes that are then explained as possessions or poltergeists.

Though my Micmac ex-brother-in-law told me "death just means one more relative is over your shoulder instead of in your face."

The first one was like that feeling. I called my mother the next morning hoping all reports were ok.

I'm even with your idea of it. It reminds of a Campbell interview. He makes sense to me.
