I think his love for MBV is really showing through on this one. It doesn't feel like retread at all like their self titled did.

A very layered and dense album, this will take time digging into which I think is awesome.

This was my question to someone today who rec'd it to me. I think WP is my favorite of their work, and I really dug Team Sleep, though Ms. Timony had much to do with that

I'd say it's more like White Pony than any of their other albums. I only hear the Team Sleep influence on a couple of tracks.

To say that their other albums are worthless is laughable to me. Both Adrenenaline and Around the Fur are qual. If you can listen to "Seven Words" without losing it, you're good.

I've actually never heard the Deftones, but they are from Sacramento, which makes them a-okay in my book.

P.S. I think it's funny that in every review (or at least enought to make it noticeable) of a Sacramento band (Cake, Deftones, !!!), they mention that they are from Sacramento. I love the shout-outs, but I think it's funny.

If I saw an RIYL with these three artists, I would be scared to hear that band.
