nr: 'Last Waltz' by Milan Kundera.

This is my first book I've read in several months. When I first started, I was a little disinterested, but then the plot starts twisting and I realized there's more to the story than I had originally figured. I'm almost done with it, then I'm reading 'High Fidelity' by Nick Hornsby.

Nothing right now, but hopefully Stephen King's last Dark Tower book within the next couple of days.

Have read the first few chapters of Jonathan Strange and Dr. Norrell in the meantime. I can already tell it will be a good one.

In various states of completion and interest:
Rising Tide, The story of the 1927 Mississippi Flood
Chronicles, Vol. 1 by Bob Dylan
Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer (thanks Pagoda!)
The Company (some book about the CIA)
How to Lose Friends and Influence People (re-read)

I read Please Kill Me and Fargo Rock City in no time flat, but these are all taking some time. And I still have an uncracked I Am Charlotte Simmons to contend with.

In various states of completion;
Chronicles, Vol. 1 - Bob Dylan
Wolves of the Calla - Stephen King
Our Band Could Be Your Life - Michael Azzerad
The Other Side of the River - Alex Kotlowitz
Revolution For the Hell of It - Abbie Hoffman

I need to really buckle down and just get one done. I'm starting to feel sick and have no weekend plans, so Mr. Dylan and I may become close friends very soon. Yes, that sounds lovely - especially since it's SO FREAKING COLD here.

Long Way Round by Ewan McGregor & Charley Boorman [documenting their excursion on motorcycles across the world]. Just getting into it, but so far, very interesting.

They did a show on Bravo for this. I always wanted to see it. Keep us posted on how it turns out for you.

That's a great book... Hornsby seems like a true music fan, and the "top ten" lists, ect. come off a lot better than they did when they made a movie out of this...

Yeah, i only caught one episode, found out they had a book, and went right out and bought it.

I'm a little worried about finishing it though since I've seen the movie 8.6 million times. I know the book takes place in London and there are some differences so hopefully those are enough to keep me interested through the entire book.

How do you like it? Do you find yourself relating to the people written about..b/c this could just as easily have been written about UGA fans or any other SEC school (save Vandy ;) )

I liked the intro, but the first few chapters are dragging, maybe because it's more about mundane shit than actual crazy fans?

I'm a big Palahniuk fan. Survivor is good, but my favorite is Choke...

Neal Stephenson, The Confusion

On deck: either the third book from The Baroque Cycle, or perhaps I'll start another Tad Williams series, depends on which I can find in the library.
