oh yeah, I forgot that's what you told me. My ID has my Sheridan address, so I guess I'd better bring a bill, too.

Did you vote for Legs Duckworth?

which is why you should vote for the green party candidate for governor. Either major party candidate is a disaster.

there shouldn't be any big upsets here; the big issue this year is the death penalty and gay marriage.

You're gonna be pissed at him when Mark Green is your Gov. Doyle needs all the votes he can get.

yeah, but doyle's a jerkoff so i can't really blame him.

Yeah, he borrowed my microphone once at an event we played and when he handed it back he said "Thanks Mitch". Fuck 'em.

And I voted for him @ 7:05 this morning.

I voted green a couple of years ago and nothing happened. I feel like I'm taking votes away from the Democrats when I vote green. Not that the Dems are great or anything, but they're not Republicans.

Face it, we're fucked no matter who's in office.

I will always vote my conscience and encourage others to do the same. The Green Party candidate best represents my values and beliefs, and if the democrats had run someone closest to my values and beliefs, they would have gotten my vote.

I also believe that if they get a certain percentage they are allocated funding for future elections. In my opinion, that would be a victory for liberals everywhere.

It also doesn't hurt that the Lt. Governor on this ticket has a son who is a close personal friend of mine.

are you sure you're registered for your current address? there was a guy this morning whose ID had an old address and one person wasn't satisfied with what he brought with the new address, but everyone else working was like, "let him vote." just keep that in mind.

duckworth wasn't an option because my man, rahm emanuel, is my representative.

Ok question:

I have my voter reg card, the address is the same as my DL, but the last name has changed cause I changed it after I married.

Will that pose a problem? What do I do? Am I fucked? Cause I don't want to skip this.

well, i was living here in 2004 and i voted then, so i'm 99.9% sure that i'm registered at this address.

you just like emanuel because his name sounds like "ram".

matt, i think that voting with your heart gets you nowhere. i'm very cynical when it comes to voting. i think it's pointless and i don't think my vote counts for shit. but i still do it. the letdown isn't as bad anymore. when gore lost to bush, i walked around in a daze for about two weeks. now, it doesn't phase me when i don't get my voting way.

you don't even need your voter registration card. i think there's an option when you switch your DL over to also switch your voter registration. you won't be fucked, but you may just have to explain it if the names are different. if the address is the same and your signatures match, there probably shouldn't be a problem.

Sure. I'm not knocking your way of doing things. In fact, I'm envious of the fact that you don't look at voting and politics as hopeless. I take after my politics-hating parents, unfortunately.

I know how it's pronounced, out of towner.

I'm still reminded of "Ram: A Gay Treasure" on Halsted when I see his name, though.

nice picture.

I don't need to tell you this but I voted for the left ONLY because it was a vote against Sonny Perdue (Incumbent Governor (R)). Taylor certainly really warrant it. I actually liked the Liberterians ideas better but I've been burned before doing that.

Georgia will remain a red state of course but I'm very interested in what happens around the country.

I love election night.

Yeah, I'm curious about Phil Kline.

and you voted against Moore? c'mon...

I voted this morning at 8:00 and it was packed. 6 little voting booths that shook vehemently when trying to color in the large box with the ball point pen. It was the usual 3 senile old ladies trying to figure out what to do with another old ladies ballot after she accidently voted for 2 governors...there was also this 20-ish whipper snapper kid working there who knew the rules and stuff inside and out and kept correcting the ladies and explaining how to do things but the know-it-all ladies kept ignoring him. Good times.

The place was packed when I left. I have a feeling voting is going to go on well after the polls close if that keeps up.

the torture thing was the last straw in a long line of disappointments... maybe he'll behave better with a dem majority, but i just couldn't do it this time around. luckily he's going to crush his challenger with or without my vote.
