Yet I don't know how to enlarge it (or shrink one that is too big) so it will fit. can anyone help?

Damn.


I tried resizing the pic I want in Microsoft Paint but it didn't work. Is there a program that can easily resize pictures to 120x120 and down to 10kb? My pics are too large/take up to much space for the avatar limits here...

I don't know about easily (depends on your savvy-tude), but you could use The Gimp, which is essentially a Photoshop clone. The "image size" function will allow you to resize it, and compression options on save should allow you to get it under 10k.
