Who's Freakster, though? There's no way that's a real person.

As a courtesy, because the guilty party is a long-time Obner, I will give them an opportunity to confess before outing them later if they don't.

This made for an entertaining afternoon during a very boring workday. Thanks!

And I should have known something was up - my first, and maybe only encounter with "Melissa" was in the "recommend a DVD" thread in which I rec'd GBV's Electrifying Conclusion and she . . . dammit, he . . . said something about it not being so great because it wasn't the (and I paraphrase out of laziness) "classic Isolation Drills lineup[/i]" or something like that. Everyone knows 1) when you talk "classic GBV lineups" you're talking mid-90s, not early 2000s, and 2), women just don't tend to dig GBV (no offense to the few that may, I'm sure there are some . . . somewhere, but I just haven't seen many.)

Masks are off now. Halloween's truly over.

My wife has been onstage with Bob Pollard singing a verse from Motor Away and went to 15+ shows in 2001.

Secondly, the Isolation Drills lineup was a classic lineup. The mid 90s lineup may have been responsible for some great records, but there was no better live juggernaut than the 2001 band.

You know, it's easy for me to be like, "Haha! You like Daniel Johns! Silverchair sucks!" but then I have to remember that I will defend Peter Wolf (singer of the J. Geils Band) and Harvey Danger until my death and those musicians get similar reactions from most people.

So, okay, she likes the dude from Silverchair. Maybe he's okay.

Lights out. Uh, huh.

You defend that, eh?

What? I'm not so good at internet singing. Give me another line or two.

He really only had one hit, as far as I know, and that was it. I had it on cassette when it came out. Here are the lyrics from a lyrics site:

Lights out
A-ha
Blast, blast, blast

Lights out
A-ha
Blast, blast, blast
Lights out

Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love

I know that it's wrong
To be dancing with no lights on
And I know that it's wrong
To be holding you for so long

And for the rest of the night
I'll be holding you tight
So tight

Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
(Lights out, a-ha)
Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
(Lights out, a-ha)

Oh, what can I do
All I need is to dance with you
And turn the lights down some more
We're the only ones left on the floor

Let the music play
I want to hold you this way
Girl, stay

Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
(Lights out, a-ha)
Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
(Lights out, a-ha)

Sha-la-la-la-la
Ooooooh, holding you girl
Sha-la-la-la-la
Oh, baby, please

Lights out
A-ha
Blast, blast, blast

Lights out
A-ha
Blast, blast, blast
Lights out

[Instrumental Interlude]

(A-ha)
(Blast, blast, blast)
(Lights out)

Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
(Lights out, a-ha)
Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
(Lights out, a-ha)

Dance, dance, dance
Radio of loooove
(Oooooooh-hooooo, girl)
(In the dark)
Shine on, loooove
(Oooooooh-hooooo, girl)
(In the dark)...

I just downloading that Peter Wolf album last week. I was instantly transported back to watching that goofy bastard dance in the video for 'Lights Out'.

You're talking about Peter Wolf? I don't know that he's had any true solo success (like, success meaning millions of albums sold, arena tours, etc.), but live, he's an animal, and if you ever listen to Sleepless, you might have a different opinion of him. I have it at home, I'll upload it sometime.

I just bought "Full House" last week....I wish I'd heard this album four years ago when I was doing a band very similar to what J. Geils was back then.

Peter Wolf had a ton of success with his first solo album.
