Anybody interested in seeing this?

[img][650:488]http://i.jubii.dk/film/wallpapers/Apocalypto/apocalypto_01_1024.jpg[/img]

The previews look good but if the movie is a thinly veiled message that all those evil, godless Inca heathens should have converted to Christianity then I won't bother.

He's a Christian, he must be insane. And, of course, I'd love to see this, even though the trailer that I saw in the theater was a bit vague as to what it's about exactly. Is it the Incas? There sure were a lot of jungle scenes for a civilization that was mainly in the Andes.

Incas, Aztecs, Mayans...whatever, same thing.

The point is, no matter how advanced their civilization was THEY WERE ALL BLOODY SAVAGES. THANK GOD FOR THE CONQUISTADORS AND THE SPANISH.

I think its the Mayans. And I believe, could be wrong, that the whole thing is a metaphor for how war-mongering and end-times-fear-mongering can destroy a society.

The movie's about Mayans and one dude's flight to escape being a human sacrifice. Dunno if there are any Christian themes. Gibson says no, but Gibson don't give a fuck, so he could be lying.

I'll bet he's lying, that religious nut.

There's got to be a scene in it where he sacrifices Jews.

I've always been a fan.
And even though he thinks that I killed Jesus to control the bank, I still find him interesting and entertaining. But now in more of a sideshow freak/Tom Cruise kinda way. and I am still a fan.

The Road Warrior is still a helluva movie.

Of course nearly everyone is going to call the movie Apocalyptica because it's a more familiar word than Apocalypto

It would have been cooler if the movie starred Harry Belafonte in a post-nuke holocaust world where everyone was dancing. Like Apocalypso

Dear god, dude! You don't even know that that's what the movie is about yet, but you're already being a douche about it!!

Frosted is probably right about it, but what I got from the previews was that it was the Aztecs destroying the Mayans, and like the last survivor hiding in trees... but I don't know how I came to that conclusion.

I don't know how a chimp like yourself learned how to type letters on a keyboard. Does your owner know that you've gotten out of your cage?

Duuude, I watched that one drunken evening in Boston on cable. Surprisingly entertaining.

Anyone know how long this movie is? I don't know if I can sit through more than 2 hours of subtitles.

He's said some stuff about how the fear-mongering of the Bush administration reminds him of the baddies in this movie.

Hmm. Just a couple days after the election and the idea of a fear-mongering Bush administration seems quaint.

Are you kidding? They went through hundreds of sacrifices a day too, including sacrificing their own people in rough times.

Well, I guess they are much less bloody than the Aztecs, but by any other standards...
