For a bit more you can get a DS Lite, which will also play all Gameboy Advance games. Its touch-screen and wireless capabilities are worth the cost.

Agreed. I'd just go straight for the Lite.

What the hell do I need wireless for?
Touch screen? What good is that? Sounds like more than I want. Remember, I'm cheap and while the wife is away, I gotta play. I'll probably get in trouble for anything I buy. :P

Oh screw that.

The touch screen seems like something of a novelty that eventually would wear off, but it's not. Trust me.

I don't even know anyone who has a game system.

Amazon has the micro for $70 with free shipping, the DS is $130. Micro it is!

edit: I can't wait to play me some Zelda!

The last gaming console I've owned was the N64. Mostly I play games on my laptop, but lately this thing has become a piece of crap.

I do have a HDTV, so I've been considering getting one of these new consoles. But the thing I loved about playing games on my laptop is that I didn't have to hog the TV to play.

Not a chance. For 300 dollars? If they were available Walmart would be hawking them this xmas along with the $5 toasters and can openers.

I'm pretty sure that Scarface is a PS2 game.

You obviously know what you are talking about:
27" 1080i HDTV for $399.99 at Best Buy

1080i is the best resolution you can get for video games.

Fuck, thanks Tommy. I think I can actually afford one of these.

As for videogames? They keep getting cooler looking and stuff, but I don't have the time or the inclination anymore.

Well, I didn't order it up or anything, but I was under the impression you needed $1500-$2K to get into a flat screen.

Like I said, low-end HDTVs. My point was that the $5000 tag is far from the truth. That's if you want the latest models with 1080p that have only been out for a few months.

SHIIIIIIIT. i forgot about the new Tony Hawk game. i don't know if that's enough to warrant buying a new system but the Tony Hawk games are my passion when it comes to gaming.
