I voted "fuck you", but I will do my part. I discovered last night that I have a lot more 2006 music than originally thought.

Is this going to be another year where we don't get the final results until February sometime?

The results have never been released in February sometime. The voting deadline is and has always been January 15 and I'm pretty sure I have always posted the results on January 16.

EDIT: Oh wait, sorry you're right. Now that we did the blurbs the last two years, it takes longer. Maybe I'll do a vote later for whether people want to results earlier or the blurbs. In either case, last year's results were posted January 31 and the year before's January 21. Previous year's were on CMJ, but there were no blurbs so they must've been January 16 or so. Never February!

With all due respect, a 100 - 150 word blurb should take about 20 minutes. It really shouldn't delay the posting of the results by more than, say, 2 days.

there are already 2 herberts "scale". one under "matthew herbert" with 4 votes and a new one under "herbert" with 1 vote.

deleted the "herbert" one, then changed the "matthew herbert" one to "herbert"

I added an album that was all ready on the charts last year. I'm pretty sure it was Timmy's fault, though.

Were you feeling guilty or bored? Or both?

And despite Z's misgivings, I'm still pushing for this to be done sooner.

Sorry Z. Cage match to settle it?

Graham Cousens. I think he spelled it 'Cousins'. You fixed it up good, though.

I had a couple extra minutes, and had already been working on some web stuff, so conditions were ideal.

Haq- Z posted in another thread that he accidentally named The Delgados' 2000 album "American Trilogy" instead of "The Great Eastern" if you want to fix something that won't affect this year's poll.

I think we need voting to end on December 31 or maybe even earlier. If you need two extra weeks to compile a list of 20 albums and you arent even a paid critic, you've got problems.

i'm pretty sure that some (a lot?) of us rely on holiday money/bounty to help in the decision-making process. in the last few years, i'm pretty sure at least one album i got in the last week of the year ended up being top-10 on my lists. i realize it's not exactly hip to wait it out for tangible products to listen to music from, but i think the extra time (maybe even just a week) does make a difference.

I need, always used personally, those extra week(s). Every year I discover an album or two past the end of December. My crash course, of only listening to 2006 music, is about to begin.
