That anti-SEC bias that the ATL Krew harps on -- it doesn't exist.

Here's the Coaches' Poll. After seeing them fuck the Volunteers, I think McFadden & Co. would whoop up on Notre Dame.

3. Florida 9-1 1,381

9. LSU 8-2 1,054
10. Wisconsin 10-1 928
11. Texas 9-2 927
12. Louisville 8-1 884
13. Boise State 10-0 830

I thought for sure they'd grab the three-spot.

I just realized that Arkansas could really play for the National Championship.

If they beat LSU and Florida in the SEC championship that would be 2 top ten teams they beat in 3 weeks.

They would have a damn near air tight argument against the other 1 loss teams.

Not only that, but…

Darren McFadden (RB): Sophomore
Felix Jones (RB/KR): Sophomore
Casey Dick (QB): Sophomore
Mitch Mustain (QB): Freshman
Damian Williams (WR): Freshman

Shit, there's more. Mustain, Williams & four other guys came from Springdale H.S. with new Offensive Coordinator Gus Malzahn. I think it was Williams that was actually going to Florida until Nutt hired Malzahn.

Marcus Monk & Peyton Hillis are both Juniors. Unfortunately, Sam Olajabutu & Keith Jackson is a Seniors, but I think they are the only two defensive starters that won't be back.

Just told my wife (Rutgers Alum) that the Scarlet Knights cracked the top ten, and she can't stop laughing. Damn, we used to go to games where you could literally pick up a ticket off the ground and walk in.

Hope Schiano stays on for at least a couple more years.

If Louisville was number 3, how does Rutgers not deserve to be at least #5?

because louisville had beaten 2 ranked teams before rutgers. and rutgers has played softballs like howard and ohio. they are really good, though. the rutgers/wvu game is going to be crazy.

Nebraska, The Best three loss team in America. I can't wait to play Texas or Oklahoma in KC. I don't know how I will handle this bye week, although the team seriously needs it.

I think I'd wash my hands after handling that trophy.

Well, Miami was ranked when Lousiville beat them, but the 'Canes won't be ranked again anytime soon. Despite that, they combine with Kentucky and Kansas State in Manhattan for a damn good no-loss non-conference schedule. At the moment, I'd say Rutgers fighting Notre Dame for the 5 spot and above Arkansas sounds right.

Florida rationale for #3: 4th strongest schedule to date with only 1 loss. Playing against Western Carolina plus USC-crushing-Cal will switch that in no time.

Beat me to it. I was going to ask who was on the cover. The title of this thread is pretty deceiving.

I'm all on this Rutgers bandwagon, but the Hogs did beat Auburn at Auburn & Tennessee at home. They weren't exactly sweating over Utah State, SW Missouri or ULM, but Notre Dame has played Stanford, all three service academies + North Carolina. They also have no defense.

Rutgers is tough, but I think Arkansas could thump Notre Dame.

If Arkansas wins out then I think they should go. Florida is kind of backing into this thing which I don't like. If Rutgers beats WVU than they have a compelling argument. There's no real rivalry between Ark and LSU, so I'd be pretty excited for them. Unfortantely Miss St. is gonna pull off a stunning upset this Saturday and thus open the door for LSU to go to the SEC Championship game.

Notre Dame needed a miracle to beat Michigan State for christ's sakes.

Did Louisville beat any team ranked as high as #3? What am I missing here?

West Virginia was #3 when Louisville beat them. (EDIT) They were also ranked fifth before beating WVU, so it wasn't as much of a jump as Rutgers had from #15.

Norte Dame has also beaten Georgia Tech on the road (8-2) and Penn State (7-4, all four losses in the Top 12). Navy ain't exactly a cakewalk these days. Both ND and the Hogs have the rest of the regular season to prove themselves, though. Arkansas is in a great spot if they win out.

Arkansas has to hope Notre Dame takes care of USC, I think USC gets in the title game by virtue of their win over the Hogs earlier this year if it comes down to them being the best one loss teams in America. Michigan gets it if the Irish become involved in the top three.
